Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

Kofax Power PDF is used to open and edit pdf files. It is currently used by the Accounting Department. After thorough testing the software, may be rolled out to other users. The software offers an extremely quick and efficient way to edit pdf files. For most pdf files adding comments and editing text is very easy to do.
  • The ability to export to Word and Excel.
  • The ability to easily insert images.
  • The ability to edit text.
  • The ability to add text.
  • Nice draw tools.
  • When opening a portfolio there is an annoying banner page that displays. I have had complaints when I send a portfolio to others that don't use Power PDF. Apparently, the banner page does not automatically go away. The receiver gets confused, not knowing how to make it go away.
  • I can't seem to re-arrange the page order in a portfolio. This is a real problem.
  • In a multiple page pdf, It would be nice to be able to rotate a single page, rather than every page.
  • When exporting large spreadsheets, it would be nice to have the option to export to a single worksheet, rather than to multiple worksheets.
  • Can't seem to edit text for all pdfs. even if i try to print out to pdf and save as another pdf.
  • The typewriter feature should have better placement control.
  • When extracting a page can't seem to be able set the placement. not sure how Power PDF "remembers" where to open.
  • Saved time in adding images, such as a signature to a document.
  • Saved time in editing text without have to go back and re-open or recreate a document.
  • Saved significant time with the form typer feature.
I have found Power PDF to be easy to use and pretty intuitive. Adding images is a breeze, you just need to drag and drop. creating portfolios is also quick and simple. I really like the ability to add or remove shortcuts to my liking. The form typer feature is a life saver.
Adobe has so many different products and names. It is very confusing to know which product to use. Adobe is not as easy to use and not as intuitive. Also, the cost is becoming prohibitive. They are trying to push users to a subscription platform. Kofax in contrast is very easy to use and pricing has been reasonable.
Finding the support contact telephone number seems to be harder then it should be. For me it takes some searching. But, once you do, the tech support has always been helpful and courteous. I appreciate that they will also follow up to make sure your issue has been resolved.

Kofax Power PDF certainly is as advertised, a feature-rich pdf editor. So many features it is difficult to name them all. For me, it has been invaluable in its time-saving features and capabilities. I originally felt if I could edit text, that would be worth the price. but, when I discovered the form typer feature and others, well it was truly more than I could expect.
Excellent in creating portfolios quickly and easily. Good in editing text. Can easily insert images. For the most part it is fairly easy to navigate and intuitive. Adding a text box is easy and can place very precisely. For the text box feature, it is really nice that you can eliminate the border and that you can have no fill color - transparent.
