Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

I primarily use Kofax Power PDF to assemble grant applications consisting of multiple individual PDF documents which must be merged into one, and to read PDF documents. I purchased it to meet a need to assemble PDFs. I also use it to edit text in PDFs, which saves me a lot of time from having to edit Word docs and then convert them to PDF again. It is used across the entire organization, which is a company of one. I use it for my work with multiple clients (nonprofit organizations) and referred it to one of them when they finally had money to buy a "fancy PDF editor."
  • Assembling a single PDF from multiple individual documents.
  • Editing text on PDFs that started out as Word documents.
  • Inserting handwritten signatures.
  • Sometimes PDFs converted to Word docs don't convert well. I think this is probably because the original document was created outside of Word, like with text boxes in a different program. If there's a way to make these convert to Word that would be nice.
  • I think that the last time I tried to rotate pages, it rotated the entire document. I don't think I can rotate individual pages, and if I can, I don't know how to use it.
  • A way to line up text boxes that get moved around during text editing would be nice, like having a line appear to guide placement.
  • Massive time savings because I don't have to do a wasteful printing, signing, scanning, uploading process for documents that I need signed or assembled.
  • I've found Kofax Power PDF easy to learn for the basic functions so I've saved time not having to learn how to use a complicated piece of software.
  • Clients have been impressed that I have a high performing PDF editor to use for their projects.
I've found it easy to use. I probably had a tutorial when I started using it 7 years ago (as Nuance), but over my time using it I haven't had issues. Its helped me save time.
Kofax lets me do things that I couldn't do or didn't know how to do in Adobe Acrobat, which I believe was the default program I had available to me before getting Kofax PDF. I don't think you can assemble PDFs in Adobe and I believe it also wasn't as good for editing documents directly.

Text and object editing, electronic signature, document assembly.
Kofax Power PDF is well suited to basic PDF editing needs such as assembly, text editing, object editing, and electronically signing documents. It is appropriate for my needs. I'm not sure about scenarios where it's less appropriate - maybe collaborative work? But it's less useful when editing PDFs that didn't start out as Word docs.
