Help for Emerging Readers
Overall Satisfaction with Lalilo
We have started to use the free version of Lalilo with our FAP students. These students are working on material between 1st and 4th grade. Lalilo allows teachers to individualize instruction to meet their needs. It allows our teachers and IAs to move between small groups and individual progress to permit more time for student interaction and more pointed direct instruction
Pros
- Differentiate Instruction
- Pinpoint areas of need for students
- Engaging for our struggling learners
- Allows students to progress/work on skills that they need
Cons
- More engaging sounds/badges for older learners
- Questions/Topics related to older students
- Differentiation for students
- Less prep for teachers
- Allows instructional assistants to better assist individual students
- We have seen tremendous growth with some of our students
- Growth in lagging skills for students (close the gap)
Lalilo is a helpful program for our struggling readers. It gives an alternative to LLI, SRA, or OG - which are all utilized within our elementary settings
