Overall Satisfaction with Lifesize Video Conferencing

The Lifesize units are great - we've been able to continue to use them after switching away from Lifesize Cloud. They're standards based and picking up a used unit on the internet is a great way to get started with video conferencing with a moderate cost. Make sure you get a sufficiently powered unit to support the number of participants that you expect to have in your calls.
We started out using Lifesize for our legal team to remotely interact with outside council a number of years ago. The primary role then switched to engineers having daily meetings with team members in remote offices. The Lifesize hardware is intuitive and easy to use for even members of the business outside of IT.
  • Easy to use interface.
  • Interoperability - standards based (SIP, h.323, etc).
  • Ability to connect from outside of the corporate network with Lifesize Cloud.
  • Quality of stream using Lifesize Cloud (audio, video easily garbled).
  • No hybrid implementation - unable to use a internet connection for external participants and internal WAN connections for remote offices.
  • Cost of Lifesize units, with no software based units (Zoom room or equivalent).
Lifesize makes great hardware, albeit a little expensive. The interface is easy to use. Before the requirement of Lifesize Cloud to allow external connections over the internet, WAN streaming quality was great, and the ability to move the camera remotely, to collaborate on a whiteboard, was extremely useful.
