Overall Satisfaction with LinkedIn Talent
We are testing it as a viable and affordable means of recruiting -- without having to go through a headhunting service. Our old way of doing things is just placing ads -- which people don't really use anymore. Our senior managers are against poaching people from other firms, so this is just a research and tracking tool.
Pros
- Access to profile details
- Organization of people
- Pretty easy to use
Cons
- It comes across as spammy to higher-level personnel.
- I wish LinkedIn could provide some further insight into these candidates...beyond what they self post.
- To be blunt, we can't afford the full-featured version of LinkedIn Talent. I don't see how any small business is supposed to compete with larger corporations for talent if we have to pay the same prices.
We've not yet used another platform similar to LinkedIn Talent. We really don't have to budget to use other recruiting tools, and our senior managers don't like the thought of plucking/poaching someone from their current jobs. What we have to offer as a firm is not shiny and doesn't really look good on social media.
