Overall Satisfaction with Linode

Linode is used to run all of our server systems for production and for development. Also for our email servers and for data backup purposes. Have rebuilt the infrastructure countless times during the past 7 years of use. Always a pleasure to work with the management tools and the API. Have been very happy and satisfied with our service.

Pros

  • Performance value for the cost.
  • Flexibility of types of machines you can run.
  • Flexibility to scale with more services as needed.
  • Ability to run machines at various geographic locations.

Cons

  • Nothing comes to mind.
  • Lower costs.
  • Ability to run whole operation with limited staff.
  • Not having to worry about physical machines.
Completely prefer Linode to AWS. Currently still have some legacy services there but Linode is above and beyond better in the way you can manage your instance and with the predictable cost.
The few times I have had issues, they have been resolved quickly and effectively. Very happy with the support received.
It has allowed us to scale as we have needed without breaking the bank. For a small business, it has been invaluable.
Everything we do is dependent on out systems, so uptime is critical and we have had no problems with Linode through the years with them.
Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service)
Excellent for when you want a solution to roll your own cloud infrastructure.

Might not be fully suited for someone looking for a full managed solution where everything is done already.
