Overall Satisfaction with LogMeIn Resolve

We use this for monitoring, remote assistance, and remote deployment. Used the platform for us to enter tickets and track issues as they progress. It worked well for checking the status of all the devices quickly and in a simple quick review format. We also used the platform to track inventory and assign to the user profile.

Pros

  • A simple remote assistance process for the staff member in need of assistance

Cons

  • device disconnect issue. It would be better if their was like a walkthrough on how to configure devices for best connectivity and monitoring
  • A remote deployment tutorial would also be good. It can be confusing for unfamiliar users to use remote deployment.

  • remote connections without users present enable issues to be addressed without the employee present, which minimizes the interruption to the employee's day.

fairly user-friendly, but the disconnect/offline devices when they are online causes several computers to need manual updates. The remote deployment can be improved for simplicity. It is a bit clunky.
It enabled tracking of device health, update status, and visibility into what programs are installed on devices. This made it quick to determine if unauthorized apps were installed, or potentially malicious software/document downloads. This reduced the time to detect unauthorized app/document and quickly resolve the issue. Remote assistance provided access to devices regardless of my location.
We looked at several alternatives but due to are small size we were not able to use their services. ConnectWise, AnyDesk, ect

Quick assistance to close problematic programs, enter admin credentials, and see the device details. The file manager does not work easily and needs to be updated and have better instrtuction on use.

Using LogMeIn Resolve

1 - Technical assistance remotely, remote deployment, and an overall view of device health and update status. To check the status of Windows updates and app updates without connecting to each device. The update dashboard is very helpful, alerting me to serious issues quickly. App update specifically is very helpful and a huge time saver.
1 - People will need to have a basic understanding of IT troubleshooting. To take advantage of the tools offered. To use the Remote Deployment tool, people need to have a basic understanding of the Command Prompt and PowerShell. Those who can write scripts can use the remote deployment tools for a vast number of options. Knowledge of the command prompt and script commands. Individuals who can write script can use the remote deployment tool to remotely deploy a vast number of tasks.

Overall, the service is useful and fairly easy to deploy, simple commands like downloading updates or installing software. Remote access is quick and easy for staff to utilize.
Cons: need more than basic knowledge to use remote deployment. It would be beneficial to have Ho-To guides or webinars to walk people through the basic setup of remote deployment. This tool lacks overall ho-to and clear directions for the process. We also have expereine issues with devices being 'offline' when they are not.

Evaluating LogMeIn Resolve and Competitors

It required basic it skills to use the platform and the ability for both remote assistance but deployment as well.
A longer testing period to see how it really works when fully put into place.
