Overall Satisfaction with Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite

The Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite is very intuitive and easy to use, allowing us to quickly and easily create our process flows. The learning curve is relatively flat and requires minimal time. There are more complex aspects to Lucid that may take more time to learn, but the time to first simple diagram is very short.
We use Lucid to help visualize complex process flows and the interactions between the various components. It provides the visual context for discussions as we design, improve, or maintain our multiple methods, both internally and within our product offerings. This context is invaluable during these discussions, helping everyone understand and stay on the same page as we work.

Pros

Cons

  • Connector formatting can be cumbersome.
  • Layering of various objects can be challenging with a lot of objects in play.
  • Lucid has saved us countless hours of explaining product process flows to various audiences, both internal and external.
  • Lucid has increased our productivity by enabling architects and designers to communicate their intentions to the broader engineering team in a clear and straightforward format, thereby helping us achieve our goals.
  • By using Lucid from the start of various projects, the resulting collateral lives on and serves as proper documentation, saving us time in creating documentation at release time.
We have not taken advantage of these integrations in our work. However, it is something that I would like to look into to see if any of them could be beneficial for us to take advantage of moving forward.
The reliability of the Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite has been top-notch, as I recall no instances of the service being unavailable. In terms of quality and performance, I have not encountered any bugs while using Lucid, but I have experienced some slowness at times, particularly with larger documents. The performance issues have been minimal, though, and generally Lucid performs very well.

The Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite is very well-suited for creating visualizations of complex process flows and the interactions between various components, which is invaluable during team discussions to help everyone understand the process and stay on the same page as we work. It is not as well suited when a lot of words or descriptions are needed to convey an understanding of the process; short, defined steps work best.
