Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart

I don't recall having to actually sit through a tutorial or anything to start using the tool. The application is very easy to understand with drag and drop, right clicking, and even keyboard shortcuts available. Specifically with the keyboard shortcuts, they appear on the context menu too, so the best way to learn the tool is actually just jumping right in.
Lucidchart is used widely throughout the company by folks in different disciplines. The tool is mainly used to diagram systems or processes that are ill-suited to other formats (such as google docs or slides). It's easier to visualize these complex systems and Lucidcharts enables us to do that. The business problem it addresses is communication and documentation.
  • Easy to use.
  • Very versatile for different use cases.
  • Very low learning curve.
  • Hard to integrate with Confluence.
  • Having too many diagrams makes it hard to find.
  • Improves productivity.
  • Improves communication.
  • Improves documentation for audits.
I have Lucidchart integrated with Slack, Google, and Atlassian (Confluence). For Slack it's often easier to add users via Slack than have to copy and paste them a link or find them via email. The Google Drive integration is a bit questionable since I don't use it and I'm not sure if my colleagues use it either. As for Confluence, I've tried to embed Lucidchart diagrams in my pages but haven't had luck so far. I typically just copy and paste the link to my Confluence pages for diagrams.
The integration with Atlassian's Confluence pages being hard to figure out knocks off a point, however otherwise the support for Lucid is pretty great!

The best application for Lucid is diagramming needs. For software in particular, data diagrams, UML diagrams, and software architecture diagrams are the best use case. All of the shapes are available (and more can be searched) to make very easy to read and understand diagrams quickly.
