Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

Marketo is one of our core systems of record (the other being Salesforce). Marketo is the main platform used by the marketing team, sending all emails, scoring leads, routing leads and executing and analyzing all marketing campaigns.

Our SDR and Sales teams also uses Sales Insight to send messages in bulk, monitor the activities of their Leads and Contacts as well as prioritize them based on scores and Interesting Moments.

Marketo has allowed our Marketing, SDR and Sales teams to align more closely, become a revenue-driven organization and increase adoption and use of our CRM, Salesforce. We're using it to increase efficiency, better understand our funnel and increase velocity.

  • Integration with Salesforce is best-in-class.
  • Access to data and insights, within Marketo and Salesforce, is much easier.
  • Ease of use in asset building tools (landing pages, etc.).
  • Reporting can be tricky and limited.
  • Support in on boarding new users. I've had a good experience, but it's clear there needs to be a lot of education in the way Marketo works to not prolong value.
  • Increased SDR efficiency.
  • Shorter time to contact for new leads.
  • Increase in qualified leads / opportunities created by SDR team.
HubSpot is great for what it solves for: inbound and content marketing. It's incredibly easy to use, but that comes with its limitations. Marketo gave us the ability to align our platform with our business process. It also is far more robust, creating endless opportunity for customization. Marketo's user community is filled with a larger and often more tech-savvy community.
Marketo requires a fairly dedicated user. If you're a limited team without the bandwidth to fully dive into a new platform, it may not be the right one for you. However, the value you receive when you have an expert at the wheel is unparalleled. Fully evaluate the area of support you need, and decide if you're ready for the investment a platform like Marketo requires. This isn't to say that you should always wait - many great companies are bringing experts in early! It all depends on the priorities of your company and where you need the most support.
