The Most Powerful Marketing Automation Software
Overall Satisfaction with Marketo
We use Marketo both as a developer and an end user. The main use case is through automation campaigns that target leads based on input data from third party applications. For example, setting up different sequences to go out to different buyer personas based on their interest level. We also use Marketo landing pages, lists, and lead scores to segment our database.
Pros
- Automation that goes deep into lead personas
- Handling lead scores
- Segmentation based on a ton of input data
Cons
- Organization, and ease of use
- API integrations can be clunky
- Support can be slow
- Lead Management
- Prospecting / New Business
Mainly to segment leads that come in and drive sales. Marketo does an excellent job of letting us use the data that is attached to each lead and send out personalized follow-ups to each person. This allows us to effectively communicate in a way that feels individualized for each new lead that comes in.
- Oracle Eloqua and Pardot
I personally see a big three if you're going for enterprise-level marketing automation. There is Eloqua from Oracle, Marketo, and Pardot from Salesforce. In terms of how they stack up, this is how I see it. Eloqua is too old and has not been updated fast enough to be effective, although it does have a powerful feature set. Pardot is very easy to use, but lacks a full feature set. Marketo is right in the middle, it does have all the features you need, and it's somewhat easy to use, but does have a learning curve.
