Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Marketo Engage

Marketo is primarily used to email our database and create assets such as emails, landing pages, and forms. I am content with Marketo. Not blown away, not overly satisfied, but content. It does the job.

Pros

  • Gives user control over creating extremely custom lists
  • Syncs with CRM (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Connects via API with external platforms

Cons

  • User interface appears very dated
  • Users who digest visually (e.g. seeing the flow of a campaign visually) may encounter frustrations
  • In my 10+ years of Marketo experience, outages are often and consistent (status.adobe.com)
  • In my 10+ years of Marketo experience, our entire database has disappeared without warning. It was able to be restored, but both times we were not given an explanation. There remains a sense of anxiety in "what could happen next".
