Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

Our team of 5 marketers uses Marketo to support a sales force of over 300 account managers. It helps us ensure the quality of the leads we serve sales, and allows us to track ROI in measurable ways.
  • Email Marketing - Nurturing as well as batch-and-blast
  • ROI Tracking – tie campaigns with their costs and track user activty/engagement all the way from first click through won opportunity
  • They need to be more realistic in the rollout of new features... Marketo tends to make big promises and deliver past their own self-imposed deadlines... seems like many nice-to-have features are always "coming in the next release."

  • Better ROI tracking
Marketo seems like the more mature older sibling to Act-On. Marketo does lack some basic features, like email deliverability previews (which Act-On has), but the main nuts and bolts of how programs work together and integrate with CRM is much more seamless and useful for our business.
CRM integrations are key. Marketo works really well with Salesforce, but I can't comment on other CRM platforms.

Using Marketo

4 - I have some web design experience, and have been able to train the team in terms of how to build emails and landing pages, and can provide troubleshooting support as needed. But by and large, our team is comprised of marketers with little to no web design experience.
