Overall Satisfaction with MasterControl Manufacturing Excellence

Initially MasterControl Manufacturing Excellence was docs and training. We launched those first and it has been seamless. Training records ands department as well as metrics and notification is handled automatically. Hard to look back at the legacy system after that. What’s more, our current customer base has been pleased with the instant availability of records and documents.

Cons

  • It feels like the modules are built by different teams and this minor functional differences trip up new users
  • Enhanced forms are painful
  • Without insights jreports can be difficult to get exactly what you want from them
  • Once we cleared the initial hurdle of integrating our docs, the speed for access, modification and collaboration improved greatly.
  • Training records are ridiculously easy now.
  • Access to asset records like calibration has been streamlined
There are still bugs being worked out ands we occasionally find minor issues ands need to reach out for assistance, otherwise this would be a 10
For the price difference mastercontrol stacks up very well. SAP offers additional functionality and customization that I have not found in mastercontrol but these are details not deal breakers.

Send to fit most of not all of what we do well. Only issue right now we have is managing analytics without insights or api driven integration into another tool. There could be some improvement into ease of use with regards to where certain data entry points end up being seen.
