Overall Satisfaction with MasterControl Quality Excellence

MasterControl helps us be compliant with many processes such as training, manufacturing and lab testing. We track and approve suppliers and perform audits to ensure compliance. We also handle customer complaints and quality events in MasterControl; this allows for tracking and trending and consistency across investigations.

Cons

  • Number of attachments per document or trainee is limited to 200
  • Training reports are cumbersome
  • Audit workflows are too restrictive
  • Configuration is hard to manage over time
  • Document approvers have to search for redlines at approval steps
  • We have reduced deviations or OOS that cause product loss
  • Customer complaints help us resolve issues that could impact future sales
  • Training and tracking it are key if there's an issue on the production floor.
  • Remaining in a constant state of compliance prevents issues with regulatory agency inspections
New users need minimal training to start using the system. MasterControl offers training options to assist us such as the MasterControl Academy. The Help area has been greatly expanded and more frequently updated to assist new users. The Enhanced Search provides a more familiar, Google-like functionality. Users can favorite frequently visited documents.
QT9 is simpler and less dynamic. The interface is less contemporary in appearance. MasterControl is more robust overall and provides a better back-end experience for system administrators. The options in MasterControl's Documents Module are more suited to our business needs and goals, and operate in a more cohesive manner for new users.

Yes

It is well suited for creation and revision of documents. The collaboration, lifecycle and workflow processes allow for user input from various areas. The system can be difficult for users to track documents that are on a workflow or in approvals. The audit workflows are restrictive and difficult to re-assign approvers.
