Overall Satisfaction with Matillion
Matillion is used by only one department in our organization at this time. It is used to orchestrate putting and getting data in and out of our data warehouse as well as transforming the data. Matillion is used to keep our data warehouse up-to-date and extract data from it for other uses.
- Matillion connects nicely to different systems.
- Data integration and transformation logic are nicely visible in Matillion's GUI.
- Matillion is quite easy to set up running in AWS.
- Integration to an external version control system is missing.
- Better processes to handle deployments from test Matillion instance to a separate production instance.
- Getting audit logs out of the instance (now saved to a local database).
- It was a cheaper alternative to our previous solution.
- One step forward in our way towards public cloud services.
The Matillion instance and the needed connections were set up in a couple of days, after which the transformation process was started.
