Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Access

We use microsoft access to maintain a database for employees that have a high level of turnover and a lot of changes.
  • Creates reports
  • Can create forms to enter information into the database
  • Keeps a database that you can use in multiple ways
  • Doesn’t always integrate nicely with other access tables
  • Forms can be hard to get correct
  • Imports from Excel sometimes don’t copy over correctly
  • Solved roster issue
  • One stop shop for data
  • Improved accuracy and decreased redundant work.
SharePoint does a lot of things fairly well but access is streamlined for data and allows you to use it quicker and more efficiently than what you could with SharePoint.
It is good for an independent database that does not have to be particularly good at integrating with other data. When you try to integrate data elements it sometimes gets tricky.
