Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Access

Microsoft access is utilized by our management team that provides a graphical depiction of our data to share out with stakeholders both in our organization and to partner agencies.

Pros

  • Solid graphic features, well represented data.
  • Easy set up - anyone can do it.
  • It is incredibly efficient with all technical aspects of the program saving time and energy for those using the system.

Cons

  • I do wish that this was a professional database.
  • VBA isn't a pure language.
  • It is a tad too easy at times.
  • We have saved so much money utilizing this system!
  • There is a strong and convenient storage capacity.
  • The fact that, about ten users in a network can use an Access application.
The fact that Microsoft Access truly is so simple for any user was a big contributing factor as to why we opted to use this program as opposed to others on the market. The storage capacity also contributed to our decision, along with the overall graphic function of data representation this met the needs we had to fill.
Access rarely falls victim to corruption - which is a strong benefit to consider when thinking of integrating this into your business. Access applications are cheaper to build and maintain than the more sophisticated productions of SQL Server and Oracle. Something to keep in mind though is that access is hard to deploy as all access applications require access.
