Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Review
Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
Recommendations for customers or endpoint solutions competing against others in the industry.
Pros
- Easy to deploy within Windows environments and no requirements for on-prem infrastructure.
Cons
- Additional capabilities with operating systems other than Microsoft Windows.
- It certainly adds to the complexity or makes it easier for customers to have complex and licensing environments if they already are a Microsoft E5 customer.
- Other
The most important is ease of deployment. Going back to the customer already has Microsoft licensing and was purely a Microsoft environment.
Just the EDR capability for endpoint telemetry and investigation.
That varies by client and platforms like Linux and Mac OS.
CrowdStrike and SentinelOne. CrowdStrike, you have to deploy it, but it's the defender, it's already baked into the operating system. Same thing with SentinelOne.
