Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Entra ID

I use Microsoft Entra ID for creating accounts for employees, I use it for activating PIM roles to help employees update their MFA method and 365 help like Mailbox/DL creation. I help employees with bitlocker recovery key using Microsoft Entra ID through the devices feature. I basically am an IT Analyst and it is my daily work which includes usage of Microsoft Entra ID. We also manage the user passwords through this platform.

Pros

  • As an Admin, I can do role management for each individual at our company.
  • I can helped the employees register their MFA using Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Though I do not create the VMs but that is a handy feature used by my other team mates.
  • I can manage devices across the organization with few clicks.

Cons

  • After I activate the PIM roles for Authentication and Exchange, it takes so much time for me to be able to manage the MFA and Mailbox/DL creation, it takes time to load and is not instant.
  • I get confused with the multiple sites and Microsoft made it more confusing by adding different site for each action though all of them are integrated but redirect to me another website, example is Microsoft Entra ID Admin Center.
  • We used to have VMware Workspace ONE before, compared to that I believe Microsoft Entra ID has been more productive for us.
  • There is not much of a learning curve either, everything has been positive with Microsoft Entra ID so far.
As far as I know, this is based on cloud at least for our Service Desk team.
We got to the portal.azure.com website for our company and use the product from there. So I guess the deployment is on cloud.
And the license I have for Microsoft Entra ID is P2.
We have Intune, Exchange Admin and End Point Management tools which are connected to Microsoft Entra ID.
I think the experience has been great after moving to Microsoft Entra ID, and same goes for the deployment as well.
  • Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management (UEM)
We had a security breach in 2022 and we used Workspace ONE at that time which we felt was not secure enough.
So we switched to Microsoft Azure and so far we feel everything is secure with this product.

I receive a lot of calls from our employees due to MFA issues like Authenticator got removed...etc and I help them by adding their phone number through Microsoft Entra ID by going to users and Authentication methods. Same goes for bitlocker recovery key. And I can reset their passwords from the same panel as well.
