Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Entra ID
In our organization it's kind of unique because we have mixed workloads and we primarily use Entra ID for all of our Microsoft online services that we're adapting toward and migrating our on-prem workloads to. That's pretty much the core identity service that we leverage and rely on effectively so we can manage our Microsoft online services.
Pros
- It's pretty much like I mentioned, this is our corner directory service for all of our Microsoft Online services, so we control our policies and enforcing security and make sure that we're leveraging the tools according to the best practice guidance.
Cons
- Yeah, I would say it's advanced logging and analytics and probably more ease of use in that space.
- We were able to obviously adapt to a lot of the Microsoft online service offerings because like I said, it's an essential piece.
We are still traditional hybrid or synchronized identity models, so we still have Windows active directory.
Unfortunately not.
We do have a lot of cloud applications that we have direct integration with Entra. We have third party cloud applications. In terms of on-prem, we have retail management systems specifically we have Work Jam, we have everything in the stack.
In terms of deployment, no. But in terms of user access requirement, yes. If there's anything, it's more secure I would say. But users are now required to do MFA or multifactor in order to access Microsoft online service, including Entra ID, which it is a security improvement, but it does change the user experience.
In our application use case, it's kind of unique and there isn't any like for if there's anything on the identity space, probably Okta. Yeah. But we do both use them and we have integration with Okta and Entra ID, so it works for us very well.
