Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Excel is the primary analytical tool used across our entire company. We spend very little in the way of additional tools, so we leverage a few power users to maximize the potential that Excel can provide.

Store and analyze data in tabular format
Allow for multiple files to be merged into one if there is a common field
Manage very large volumes of data, and output into usable charts/graphs

Help with predictive analytics
Make concurrent file-sharing more feasible

Return on Investment

Very hard to determine
Without a ready alternative, our business would come to a halt without it

Since it is our primary tool, we make it suitable for every need that we have. Sometimes our data comes into the application in an uncommon format (leading zeros, hidden spaces, different format), which makes analysis difficult.
