Very strong data misapplication and visualization tool
Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Excel
We use Microsoft Excel as our spreadsheet software across the organisation, from Finance to our science teams. It is primarily used to bring data to life and there are a number of data visualization options which make this a reality. In my opinion, the formulaic basis from which the application is built upon is perfect and easy to learn/apply meaning that minimal training is required.
Pros
- Formulas are easy to learn / apply
- Data is visualized easily
- Data is sorted / organised easily
Cons
- There are a lot of updates in most recent versions which take time to apply
- Formulas change throughout different versions which can be challenging to apply
- The layout of the ribbons changes quite a lot too which is challenging
- From a finance perspective the ROI we have achieved is massive
- The visualization of data for decision making managers allows them to make in time decisions which benefit the organisation greatly
- Very strong ROI across science departments, and high level of accuracy
I think it stacks up very well, ClickUp ha a better user interface however Microsoft Excel has a more sophisticated back end and formula approach. In my opinion, ClickUp however does provide less of a need to 'learn' formulas as there is more of a click application approach which can be helpful when in situations where the formulas you are applying are less familiar to you / you haven't applied them before.
