Pros and Cons

Having the ability to "Subscribe" or schedule queries is a nice convenience.
Easy for non-technical people to learn.
Ability to export data into Excel, TXT, PDF.
Pivot functionality.

There is no ability to build your own queries. You're only able to select from pre-prompted measures and dimensions (groupings).
Charting capabilities are basic.
Most of the time I use MicrosStrategy to extract the data and manipulate it in Excel to get it to the desired state.

There are better products out there such as Hyperion.

Likelihood to Recommend

Which is more important: an easy to learn tool, or greater querying capabilities? If the latter, go with another tool other than MicroStrategy.
