Overall Satisfaction with Mimecast Advanced Email Security

We use Mimecast Advanced Email Security as a stronger filter than what Gmail has built-in. This allows us to make our own exceptions, create company-wide block lists, and lets users decide what to release and reject through their personal portal. We've seen Mimecast Advanced Email Security automatically catch quite a few actual phishing attempts and intercept them before they get to the user.

Pros

  • Allows users to decide on their own what marketing emails they want and don't want.
  • Automatically intercepts messages that could be dangerous.
  • Filters out links to provide an extra layer of protection if a user mistakenly clicks something.

Cons

  • The administrator portal could be a bit more intuitive navigating through each of its different functions.
  • Increased email security
  • More peace of mind for IT department
It's a little difficult to navigate on the admin side, but for general users, it's great. It's self-explanatory how to reject or accept a held message, its sender, or its entire domain.

It's well-suited for companies that want more granular control over what emails go in and out of their company than what the built-in filters in Gmail and Outlook can provide.
