Overall Satisfaction with NAKIVO Backup & Replication

NAKIVO is the best Backup and Malware-Protection Solution to be found. Period. We use NAKIVO Backup & Replication to secure our file, database, and hypervisor servers (VMware ESXi). We run NAKVIO on multiple NAS throughout our company and even replicate the NASes. The unique approach of NAKIVO is that the application sees the network and data, but the network does not see the backup. Hence, the Backup cannot be corrupted from within the network! That, and pricing, were the main points to leave our previous backup solution behind.

Pros

  • Hides the backup from the network and all threats present therein.
  • Ease of use both when setting up the backup and when restoring data.
  • Providing both bare-metal recovery and single-file retrieval exceptionally easy.
  • Supporting external and transitory backup media.

Cons

  • Setting up cycling external backup media could be easier, but it works.
  • Support of certain Linux variants could be better (cannot be backed up incrementally).
  • The pricing is competitive and you are not pushed towards upgrades.
  • Retention policies are well done so we don't spend as much on new hard drives.
NAKIVO for us is the best overall Backup Solution to be found. No other package offers the same depth of careful thinking. The backup is not the final security, the backup itself has to be protected. And we did not see any other implementation which protects your backup sets as well as NAKIVO does.

Wherever NAKIVO runs (as a dedicated VM, an application on NAS, as an installed service) you get a concise Web interface through encrypted communication. One is able to check and monitor the backups quickly and in detail, if needed. Notifications, Warnings, and Alarms are grouped and bundled so that you can work with them promptly.
Of course, you always think that something could be a bit cheaper. But NAKIVO Backup & Replication delivers real value for its price and value that lasts. We greatly appreciate that you are still able to actually BUY the software instead of being forced into subscription services. After all, it is OUR data and it should remain that.
Whenever you want to be sure that your backup is as safe as possible from intruders and malware attacks, NAKIVO is your choice. If you are not willing to run a dedicated machine for backups (REALLY?), this might not be the solution for you, but then, the aforementioned use case is also not for you. If you have a NAS from Synology or QNAP, NAKIVO is ideal for you.
