Overall Satisfaction with NAKIVO Backup & Replication
Mississippi College uses NAKIVO to backup all servers in our VMware environment and it’s installed on a Synology NAS located at each campus. Backups are copied to the other NAS as a 2nd layer of protection and a subset of data is backed up to cloud storage as a 3rd layer.
NAKIVO is easy to use and is low maintenance. Backup emails are checked daily and errors are attended to, which happens very seldom. Also, individual files as well as full VM's can be restored when needed.
We have been using NAKIVO for several years and have been very pleased with their product as well as their support.

We have been using NAKIVO for several years and have been very pleased with their product as well as their support.
- NAKIVO software upgrades are easy and quick.
- NAKIVO has a chat option to contact support immediately within the console.
- Once you create your backups and define your notifications on those backups, you can set it and forget it. Backup emails alert you of any issues so you know when you need to login to the console to check. NAKIVO does not require daily monitoring, although it is good practice to login to the console at least once a week just to check everything.
- Support is eager to assist anytime I have contacted them. If 2nd level support is needed, issues are escalated quickly.
- Backups have the option of "screenshot verification". Screenshot verification doesn't always work for us when our vmtools is out of date. If we are on an older version of VMware and that version of vmtools is up to date, NAKIVO still thinks it is out of date.
- Being able to backup many servers at the same time, quickly.
- Copying backups to a NAS at our DR site on a schedule.
- Backing up to a cloud storage with ease.
- Software upgrades are fast and easy.
- We believe their pricing is very competitive without losing functionality.
We transitioned from disk backup with Infrascale to NAKIVO and have not used any other products like NAKIVO.
