Overall Satisfaction with NetBase

NetBase is used across our whole organization with support from the research team. It is generally used for insight into conversations into which our clients want to engage; then quantifying those topics and our clients' share within them. It is occasionally used for tracking advertising campaign effectiveness when it comes to generating buzz and share of conversation shifts.
  • Super intuitive user interface. I can train anyone in a few minutes.
  • Easy templates for quick access to key information on projects with fast turn-around time.
  • Excellent topic filtering/editing.
  • Sentiment analysis is pretty rough. Generally don't trust it.
  • Blocking re-tweets, as they tend to overwhelm the sample.
  • Dashboarding is less intuitive than it could be.
Strategy/Planning and Insights.
  • NetBase is an important part of one of our star products as a company, which we often use in new business pitches.
  • The adoption of NetBase several years ago helped make social media monitoring an engrained part of our organization; which is vital for a marketing consulting company.
NetBase is far more intuitive and user-friendly than any other social monitoring tool that I've seen or used on the market. It provides a way to distill a large amount of information so that even an novice can use it. For us, having a tool that can do that distillation for our insights team is imperative: we needed this to be a democratized tool, not one that was the remit of a particular department.
We have a strong partnership with NetBase's team and the product has met all of our expectations. Our organization has already broadly adopted the tool for use in social media monitoring and competitive analysis, so adopting a new tool with a new interface without a compelling reason would be work prohibitive.
NetBase is best suited for general social media mention monitoring but not for scraping all available Tweets for research purposes. Because it's a bit of a walled garden, it's great for use within a large organization that needs to democratize the use of social media insights.
