Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use the NGINX forward proxy manager to manage a few sites coming into the network. all websites with different domains.

Pros and Cons

reading TCP headers for forwarding
forwarding traffic flawlessly
Let's Encrypt compatibility

add load balancer into basic proxy manager
better initial SSL documentation

Return on Investment

we haven't made moves to do a spend so no ROI needs yet
we are worried about the neglect of SMB segemnt perhaps.. smaller dollars

Alternatives Considered

Have not used anything further. Did table with the web service for ab it.

So far for me it's been great for forwarding https and http traffic to different servers behind the firewall. I still use apache as the web service at the end, but nginx as a forward proxy for us has been great.

NGINX Forward Proxy is the way to go!
