Odooo Manufacturing and more!
Overall Satisfaction with Odoo Manufacturing
We use Odoo Manufacturing together with several other Odoo apps, including CRM, Invoicing, Sales, Website, eCommerce, Accounting, Inventory, Purchase, Studio, and Easypost. All of these apps work together seamlessly in the background. Any further integrations can be implemented with the Studio app.
Together, all of the apps constitute an ERP system (enterprise resource planning). In our case, the challenge is managing inventory, sales, and production in a mixed-manufacturing and distribution environment. When an SO (sales order) is placed, the inventory item Route or the Reordering Rule/s kick in and either generate an RFQ or MO (manufacturing order) using the item BoM (Bill of Materials) to meet the demand for the SO. For the MO, the inventory module scans the inventory demands for SO and MO daily and compares to the Routing and Reordering Rules to generate RFQs.
These demands are tracked with transfers, which indicate destination, whether that be an SO, MO, or to maintain the minimum stock for a Reordering Rule. This helps prevent products going to the wrong demand.

We had previously used xTuple ERP for manufacturing. Odoo ERP is a big step up as well as a big savings. xTuple did have a robust manufacturing offering, but the Odoo Studio allowed us to do things we could never have done with xTuple, like integrate the BoO. xTuple never tracked product transfers either, so you had to manually track requirements or do detective work to figure things out. Odoo is a big improvement on that.
