Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is used across our organization to host our IAAS and PAAS resources and hence reduce the footprint of physical servers. Scalability and the speed of provisioning resources was an issue before but are no longer a problem with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Ease of scalability
  • Ease of resource provisioning
  • When initially launched, the solution was not compatible with EBS.
  • Integration with other tools such as WAF/IDCS is not straightforward.
  • Reduce the footprint of physical servers in our corporate headquarters which is aligned with the corporate strategy
  • OS for PAAS is managed by Oracle and therefore we save on maintenance cost.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) presented us with a turnkey solution while AWS was offering infrastructure as a service

Do you think Oracle Cloud Infrastructure delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's feature set?

Yes

Did Oracle Cloud Infrastructure live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure go as expected?

No

Would you buy Oracle Cloud Infrastructure again?

Yes

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is proper if intended to be used as IAAS/PAAS for stand-alone applications. However, we faced issues when using it with Oracle EBS either due to certification (this was in the very beginning with the classic version and is no longer the case) or performance.
