Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Dyn Managed DNS

We use Oracle Dyn Managed DNS to host all of The City of Virginia Beach's DNS domains/records. We have several domains that support many different departments and businesses, and we can manage all of them from one central location.

Pros

  • It uses multi-factor authentication and ensures us that the management of our DNS is secure.
  • The interface is easy to use and navigate around, which makes administration less of a headache.
  • I've found that when we needed documentation, it was easy to find and very helpful.
  • Making changes is easy, but has its safeguards in place to avoid making mistakes. Changes always appear to be updated promptly as well.

Cons

  • The interface is easy to use, but it looks outdated.
  • Bulk updates are difficult due to way you have to make updates in the interface.
  • When a record is created, it will show a TTL of "default" but you have to research what that actual default value is. I'd prefer it displayed the actual value
  • It works well and its easy to manage.
  • It saves time and effort from an administration perspective.
  • It's very reliable as a service from a business perspective.
Network solutions, godaddy, and Verisign are products I've used in the past. I truly believe that Dyn has been the best product I've used. It's easy to use, easy to manage, updates happen quickly, it's secure, and it's reliable.
Documentation is easily accessible and has been very helpful when needed. We don't need technical support very often, which is a good thing.
It is very easy to use and intuitive. I use a lot of different interfaces and this one is very simple and easy to navigate.
It works well for businesses who need to manage multiple domains and lots of DNS records.
