Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Eloqua

We use Eloqua for all marketing automation campaigns. The program is primarily used by the marketing tech team, but we do have some access for the sales team for the Eloqua Sales Tools (profiler and engage).
  • HIPAA Compliant, if that is a need you have.
  • Ability to customize using programming.
  • User management is pretty easy to use.
  • Ability to support multiple brands within one platform.
  • Requires someone with a lot of Eloqua experience to use.
  • Doesn't have modern processes for native A/B testing (It does have A/B testing, but the selection logic is not equal and randomized).
  • The lead scoring model is very clunky and not comparable to other marketing automation platforms.
  • If you are changing from any other platform to Eloqua, you can expect to need to make significant changes to your lead scoring process, MQL lead assignment process and your template processes.
  • Very expensive. Many things that are standard capability with other platforms are an add-on in Eloqua.
Eloqua does give you the ability to scale in terms of the number of campaigns and contacts, as well as the ability to support multiple brands within the platform, but it comes at a high price. Not only is the cost high, but it requires a team to manage that is very technically savvy.
  • We are able to manage many campaigns at once.
  • We have had some service issues that have had a negative impact on ROI, but only for that short time that the outage occurred.
  • We have been able to support all of our business goals with Eloqua, it just took us longer to get our processes changed to align with the way that Eloqua works.
Pardot and HubSpot are much easier to use. The sales tools offered by these solutions are easy for the sales team to use as well.
I would really only recommend Eloqua to a colleague if they are looking to implement one marketing automation platform that will be used by their product team as well as their marketing team. I honestly would not recommend it any other time. There are so many add-ons with Elouqa that you will need if you are taking advantage of sales tools, all of which are standard capabilities in most other platforms.
