Overall Satisfaction with Oracle GoldenGate
Currently [Oracle] GoldenGate is being used to replicate a backup database for disaster recovery and also integrating different data sources to a single database.
- Documentation is easy to follow
- Downtime seems very minimal
- Able replicate in real-time
- Expensive, considering we were going to use Active Data Guard.
- A lot of memory is being used.
- No UI
- We were able to cut down many development hours creating integrating points to a production database.
- Able to generate production data to QA databases for testing.
We evaluated Data Guard since we were in the market for replication during disaster and recovery. [Oracle] GoldenGate has much more features besides what we indented to use it for and has helped us with different ways to present our application to our clients.
