Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Oracle VM VirtualBox to support users across our whole organization. It was helpful to troubleshoot issues and assist users with technical issues and resolving any other problems before pushing it to development.

Pros and Cons

Cross-platform functionality
Utilize multiple VMs on a host-only network
Very user-friendly

When setting up an environment with different OSs for testing cross-OSs testing, this software was utilized.
When multiple guests were utilizing it, it was easy to set up.
everyone can run the same build scripts when an environment changes.

Return on Investment

Popular - Good community support
Documentation is good, but there's room for improvement
Allows a bridged network to be built with no problems at all.

Alternatives Considered

ADP VirtualEdge

I would prefer Oracle as it is much more user-friendly, easier to set up, and good for large communities.

MySQL, Oracle Access Management, Microsoft Access

Likelihood to Recommend

As the environment changes or needs updating, everyone is able to run the same script. It allows us to quickly develop and test in various standardized environments on our own PCs.
