A well-rounded security application for general security needs
Overall Satisfaction with Adaptive Defense 360 / WatchGuard EPDR
Panda Security for Desktops is a highly versatile system that can handle many security problems faced by everyday users. With an organization that I worked with, it was found to be an economic and strong security system capable of being implemented across a number of computers at remote locations. It's ease of use and installation meant that the program could be used with a minimal cost beyond its license purchase.
Pros
- Panda Security is really good at security scans for viruses.
- The application is very user-friendly
- Panda Security is easy to learn and to train users on.
Cons
- Panda Security is not the best at some types of malware scans but that can be an issue with other similar products as well.
- The configuration and setup functions could be more detailed and expanded for advanced users.
- Updates can sometimes be infrequent.
- The software helps to save on overhead training costs.
- The fairly simple interface can be easier to manage for IT departments.
- In dealing with complex security problems, there may be a need for additional security services or products.
- Cisco Cloud Web Security, Malwarebytes, Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) for Endpoints, Eset Endpoint Antivirus, F-Secure Messaging Security Gateway and InfoSec SecurityIQ
Panda Security works well for normal to less complex office systems that do not require extensive security support. However, it could be found lacking when compared to other products such as Cisco's security line of applications. Its limited malware detection services can also be a hindrance, especially when compared to products such as Malwarebytes that are fairly inexpensive to purchase. This isn't just a problem with this application but is found in other "security" products.
