Overall Satisfaction with Parallels Remote Application Server

We used it in the past to allow users to access apps while traveling regardless of what device they were using. This was helpful for making edits while on the fly on web projects if an admin wasn't readily available at their standard workstation. It was a helpful cloud-based solution.
  • Being able to make an edit on a desktop while on a mobile device
  • Being able to make an edit on a desktop while on a tablet
  • Easily add/remove user access on the fly
  • Sometimes it was a bit laggy, though this was dependent on a device.
  • Inititally had issues on iOS though it did improve over time.
  • A bit of a resource hog.
  • We are a small agency so the ROI wasn't huge.
  • Once we shrank down even further and worked with contractors more it was less useful.
Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)
It was best suited as an easy and quick solution in a fast paced setting. It was very easy to use even for the less tech-savvy users. It didn't take a bunch of hoops to jump through to work. But if it was on a laggy connection, users would often get frustrated rather quickly, and complain that they didn't like to use it.
