Overall Satisfaction with PingPlotter

I use PingPlotter to understand any latency or packet loss between a test computer and the central router. I also test to see any connectivity issues to the internet. My primary reason for monitoring this is because I have a wireless bridge in between the test computer and there can be latency. This helps me troubleshoot changing the channel to get better signal.
  • Visualization, easy to understand graphs and views
  • Setup, adding and removing monitor targets is easy
  • Size, the application is pretty simple and doesn't take up a lot of system resources.
  • It would be helpful if it had more OS integration to show a view that sites on top of other windows
  • There could be a lower price point for very basic users
  • Helped me avoid replacing a router that wasn't failing
PingPlotter has better visualizations and a stronger ability to capture historical data than other tools I've used. This makes it easier to find the root cause by looking back in the log data to find where latency or packet loss occurred.

Do you think PingPlotter delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with PingPlotter's feature set?

Yes

Did PingPlotter live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of PingPlotter go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy PingPlotter again?

Yes

It is well suited for performing monitoring and testing from a single device. It is less appropriate if you have to monitor from multiple different endpoints. That type of deployment would be more of an enterprise application. If you are looking for an end user monitoring solution then PingPlotter is the one for you.
