Overall Satisfaction with Planful

We utilize Planful to consolidate results from multiple ERP's and report on them. We have numerous ERP's from multiple companies all with different chart of accounts that we bring into Planful (Some are manual loads, some utilize boomi to automatically bring in actuals on a daily basis). We utilize spotlight XL to create most of our reporting Decks. Our users load plan and forecast information into the system for consolidated reporting purposes.

Pros

  • Reporting - Love the spotlight XL addin to quickly refresh reporting decks
  • Reporting - Appreciate the report collection functionality to burst reports out to multiple people efficiently; even non system users
  • Ability to bring in transaction detail as well as attach copies of the actual invoice to aid in quick analysis

Cons

  • would like the ability to be able to account for transfer pricing/product markup between companies.
  • Wish the product had more data dimensions available in the core system (Currently 8 user defined dimensions available)
  • Easy to configure and automate integrations - specifically netsuite
  • We were able to reduce the time spent creating reporting decks
  • We were able to distribute report writing capabilities to users to design their own and create ad hoc reports to suit their specific business needs
Our plans are created outside of the Planful system and then consolidated within the system. Most of the detail is kept at the local company level and within their own ERP/Excel files.
We have plans to expand our use of the system to other modules we dont currently use today (Workforce planning and dashboards are next on our list)

Reporting and distributing reports to multiple users is a strength. THe use of the spotlight Addin has really streamlined our reporting process. Using spotlight for powerpoint has also made our reporting more efficient as changes are made to data. I do think they could improve the powerpoint spotlight reporting to make it easier.
