Overall Satisfaction with PowerDMS
- Control of Polices, and documentation for UT Southwestern Police Department.
- One official version of every policy, and never outdated.
- Signatures, of key documents, with accountability.
Pros
- Polices are not in a file cabinet
- Polices are never outdated
- Only one official source
Cons
- At the moment PowerDMS is working on a solution for dissociation of certain standard to certain policies. Is currently under discussion in the PowerDMS success community.
- Paper consumption, but the real impact is control of documentation, second to none

Evaluating PowerDMS and Competitors
Yes - Paper files
- Product Features
- Product Usability
The ability to handle everything in the department and not dependent on local institutional servers
At the current time, I don't think there is a competitive package to PowerDMS. There are copy cats but the real source starts here.
PowerDMS Implementation
- Vendor implemented
Not sure - I was the person who implemented and currently manage and maintain the way the system supports the department. Concern here is about me leaving.
- Incorporating and organizing documents, lots of broken pieces when I started the process.
PowerDMS Support

No - I believe there is no additional cost with enhanced support
Yes - There have been a couple of things that I have discovered but a workaround was sought and has been implemented. Currently I have an issue with disassociation of standard to polices, and is currently being worked on.
This week, through the PowerDMS Success Community, and personal response for PowerDMS team (Melissa Dixon)
