In my opinion, A good competitor for FMAudit
Overall Satisfaction with Printanista
Printix and Printerlogic are the some of the favorites we used in the past to monitor customers and make sure that their levels are always in line where they need to be. We mainly use the software to manage printers for customers remotely. We are one of the largest wholesalers for Printers and also lease them out, so Printanista is a good choice to monitor those printer for typical issues customers have remotely.
Pros
- Checking meter readings for printers
- Easy to deploy to servers and jumpboxes
- Easy to configure the port so that information flows back to us on the printers
Cons
- The software can become corrupted and need to be installed again.
- There is a learning curve when teaching new employees how to deploy and monitor levels.
- Readings from the Cloud servers and not always accurate and may be delayed.
- Customer satisfaction scores increased by 5%
- We were able to grow our print side of the business by 10% this year
- Technicians are aware of when a printer goes down and they get alerted
When we no longer are getting print level readings from a device, we know to call the customer and see if their printer went down. If they confirm it came offline or the firmware needs to be updated, we can send a print tech on site right away to troubleshoot things. It also helps to let us know when a customer is low on specific ink toner colors so print side can order more.
We are trying to integrate this with other ECI products at this time. We are still working on completing the integration to see if this would be a better solution versus FMAudit which is deployed to all of our sites right now. The integration is proving to be more difficult than expected.
Printanista doesn't do much differently from other products in the same class. They are all relatively easy to deploy and monitor print levels. Most of the time, the printer readings are accurate and allow you to make sure a customer's print environment is running smoothly. Printanista works about the same amount of time as a Printix application.
