Overall Satisfaction with Progress Kendo UI

We produce a data-intensive web application for companies in the wholesale apparel industry. Our web products require high-performance UI components, including grids, drop-down lists, and charting controls. We selected Kendo UI as our supplier because it is an industry leader in this area and I have had a favorable experience with their products in the past. By using their products, we are able to shorten our development time and improve the quality and capability of our commercial offerings.
  • The Kendo UI controls are flexible and configurable and can be adapted easily to multiple development frameworks.
  • The Kendo UI controls are reliable and have proven to perform consistently and well in our production environment for years.
  • The vendor provides excellent online documentation and support.
  • The vendor makes an outstanding effort to keep current with the latest web technologies.
  • The Kendo UI controls could provide more hooks for easily modifying style and appearance since we typically have a need to change the look and appearance for our application context.
  • More sample code and tutorials would be greatly appreciated, particularly for Angular 2+.
  • Better migration guides and release notes for new versions. Upgrading applications that are in place is always problematic. We would like to know what problems we might encounter in advance.
  • Use of Kendo UI controls significantly reduces our development effort and improves time-to-market delivery.
  • In some cases - for example, charting and graphing - use of the Kendo control set enables us to provide application features that would otherwise be too costly or labor-intensive to implement.

The Kendo UI controls are more professional in appearance, better documented and simpler to integrate into our software applications. It takes us less time to implement the Kendo UI controls in our projects than comparable offerings from other vendors or open-source alternatives. That translates into faster delivery, fewer bugs and better overall product quality.
In our experience, the Kendo UI controls are well-suited to use in client-side web pages, regardless of the backend technology. We are a Microsoft shop and use ASP.NET and .NET Core but the Kendo UI controls are technology-agnostic. We do not currently use the Progress server-side components (although we have used Telerik server controls in the past) but they seem to pose more constraints on technology implementation and prospective users may want to investigate that thoroughly before committing to the vendor's server-side solutions.
