Overall Satisfaction with Progress Sitefinity

We needed a content management system that allowed our marketing department to make updates to our site without having to go through the software development team. It allows the software developers to extend the website functionality by creating .NET User Controls and MVC, while letting the marketing department add pages, tweak content, etc.
  • Technical support is quick and thorough. Whenever we encounter an issue, they are very helpful in resolving it.
  • They do several releases per year, increasing functionality and eliminating bugs.
  • Sitefinity works very well. I don't have to worry about issues, it's one less thing I have to worry about.
  • Sitefinity needs better auditing support at non-enterprise levels. At the professional level, I would like to see logs of who changed what and when.
  • Moving site changes from software developers to marketing has had significant ROI for our organization.
Using WordPress for a CMS is difficult. We've found WordPress is better suited for blogging and it's best to leave CMS to others. Trying to use WordPress as a CMS, although doable, often requires a lot of compromises.
In a .NET environment where you want a lot of flexibility and the ability to extend website functionality using MVC or User Controls, Sitefinity is great.
