Overall Satisfaction with Progress Sitefinity
Sitefinity is the CMS we use for two externally facing websites for our organization. One is primarily a content driven site for our performing arts organization and the other is a robust ticket sales website for our organization and other organizations that we partner with. Between the websites we've developed a broad range of functionality for use by our patrons that includes single ticket sales, subscription sales, donations, memberships, education and other event registration, account maintenance and more. The websites have been fully integrated with Tessitura, our ticketing and CRM platform.
Sitefinity is being used across most of our organization. Most departments have interest in what and how content is presented on our websites and several departments have direct access to maintain certain aspects of the website.

- Support is excellent.
- Customization is limitless.
- Updating pages and content is simple.
- Out of the box forms are cumbersome and not as fully developed as many other CMS's. Also no OOTB email receipt for users which should be added.
- Upgrades can be difficult if you rely on customizations.
- A lot of the OOTB features needed to be customized to be used by us.
Sitefinity combines the benefits of being easy to use, extremely customizable, and has great support. None of the other products we evaluated or have used in the past had everything we needed. Cost is comparable with other non open source products we evaluated, but the free products weren't going to meet our needs.
Progress Sitefinity Feature Ratings
Using Progress Sitefinity
12 - Sitefinity is used directly by IT, Marketing, Ticketing and our Education departments.
1 - Internally we have one member of IT who is involved in development, maintenance and support of Sitefinity. There are a few other staff members who are experts in their areas that can help support other members or perform simple administration. Also we have a vendor we work with who developed the bulk of the websites who also helps with support. Support requires general experience in the use and administration of the backend of the software and it helps to now front-end and .NET web development and have some experience with database and IIS.
