Overall Satisfaction with Projectplace
We use projectplace to manage our collaborative working activities, share resources, and plan our meetings and scheduling. The tool allows us to work most efficiently on documents we author together, allowing easy version management of documents and for sharing of hyperlinks to documents through email. The security of the tool allows us to electronically discuss work which we could not carry out within an email chain. We use it across our whole organisation, which is spread across five countries and three languages.
- Easy management of documents, with versioning and commenting/sharing tools.
- Can plan tasks and schedules for efficient working.
- Straightforward user interface and easy to use once set up.
- Excellent tools for online meetings with telephone dial-in integration.
- Integrated well with email notifications.
- Platform still reliant on Adobe Flash, which is now considered to be almost a legacy tool and doesn't work well on certain common web browsers (Google Chrome).
- A recent update to the platform has made certain features (ability to provide descriptions related to file versions) restricted to administrators, rather than being available to all users.
- Desktop integration tool can occasionally have problems (but usually functions well).
- Projectplace allows us to avoid a large number of those daily opportunities for confusion and/or loss of time related to emailing new file versions, having to integrate changes in multiple documents, or dealing with file management and data backups.
- We can carry out conference calls and online meetings with a range of functionality beyond simple screen sharing in order to improve the effectiveness of our communication and time spent during meetings.
