Overall Satisfaction with Projectplace

Projectplace is used to manage all workload and log project progress through a very busy global department. It is also being used to manage all aspects of project creation in other selected departments, involving global teams.
  • User interface is very simple and intuitive. Logging the full history of a project throughout its development is efficient. Transferring projects to different people is easy and quick. Overseeing the current (updated in real time) status of projects, without reliance on spreadsheet updates and email or messages, at any time of day or night, is extremely helpful. And it's a closed loop so you can't contact people in error
  • Comments box should be expandable and printable
  • Safety feature to restrict who can delete projects
  • Ability to personalise what you see and where you see it
  • Too early to say but it looks to be saving time (by reducing time doesn't in email, updating Excel tracers etc), and enables changes to the scope of work to be tracked very quickly, prompting budget discussions at an early opportunity
Much easier to use and many useful features for the accidental project manager.
  • Where there is a high reliance on email and a 'copy all' culture
  • Where project progress/traffic is rapid and volatile
  • Where audit needs to be detailed
  • Where project management is done by people who are not trained for the role
  • Where a team works across time zones
  • Where detailed and open client-vendor collaboration is needed
