Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write

We provide Read&Write to all district students, which is close to 2,000 of them. Students use it in all subjects.

Pros

  • Helping students to begin writing.
  • They are helping students understand some of the difficult words in a passage.
  • Lowering the reading level of passages to assist teachers.

Cons

  • Lowering the reading levels of passages the teacher creates, not just what is online
  • It does save time for teachers and promotes more independence in our students. This is the first year we are using it in my district, so I will have more to write about next year when more teachers are using it in their classrooms.
They have jumped on to brief PD to support teachers using Read&Write for the first time, which has been so helpful. As we approach another PD day in our district, Read&Write has helped us answer the teachers' questions.
This is so important. We wanted to provide our students with appropriate tech tools to enable them to be more successful and to use them in high school and beyond.
I can't comment on this.
