Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write

I work at a school for complex learners who require assistive technology programs and tools in order to complete their work across subject areas. Our students have limited written expression, reading comprehension, memory, and study skills, and really benefit from the supports inherent in the Read&Write toolbar.

Pros

  • Intuitive interface
  • Good customer service if needed
  • Multiple tools
  • Pricing options for using multiple Don Johnston tools

Cons

  • Sometimes the toolbar does not work well with certain PDFs
  • There are not pictures or definitions for all words
  • Students are much more engaged when they feel that they have the tools available to complete work independently
  • It helps teachers to be able to divide their time among more students because they are able to work more independently with Read&Write
They were very responsive and helpful.
Having an all-encompassing assistive technology tool to use with our students is invaluable!
Read&Write has many more features that are helpful for learners.

Read&Write is great for the students at my school. It is less appropriate for our younger students (K-2).

I think it is an amazing, comprehensive tool that is easy for students to understand and use to improve their school performance.

Working in a special education school where staff have limited knowledge of AT, it was imperative that we used a tool that easily integrated with the Google Suite and had a vast ease of use.
