Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write
We use the tool as our main assistive technology for learners ages 14 - 19+. Around 3/4 of our Level 2 learners have additional needs of some kind. It is also used by staff with additional needs. We use the exam mode during GCSE's.
Pros
- Screen focus (we use as a colour overlay)
- Picture Dictionary
- Terminology List (highlights)
- Simplify
- Read Aloud
Cons
- Colour overlay as it's own button with better colour selection
- AI features to further meet needs e.g. simplify, summarise, reading level
- Further languages
- Magnifier feature
- Colourblind filter (adjustable)
- AI built into the 'Practise Reading Aloud' for feedback from a 'AI teacher'
- Improved inclusion
- Improved engagement
- Improved outcomes
- Improved participation
- Improved GCSE
As per previous, students use it in all lessons to access work and we use it in GCSE exams as well as at home access.
My employee has dyslexia and used the read aloud feature to better complete his tasks.
