Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat OpenShift
In our organization, we use Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization hypervisor for internal clusters. It provides an alternative for VMware and their expensive pricing.
Pros
- Virtualization
- Efficiency
- Upgrades
Cons
- Support for VMware based appliances
- Pricing
- UI comparison to VMware vCenter
- Alternative for VMware
- Linux workloads
- Windows workloads
The upgrade process is much better.
We use OpenShift on premise only. We currently use it for a very small workload testing it out.
OpenShift is moving in the direction of VMware and is a good first step in the process.
